Wow, first ever septic tank is in place. During the 60's & 70's the house had no septic tank. (Everything drained to our nearby pasture land). Many overgrown trees on
south side of propety were removed for this state of the art septic tank. Started locating brass cover plates. Will go back with reproduction push button switches per original Sears house. So far, have made all purchases on EBAY & have been quite thrilled with my finds. Will keep you updated on my search. Trusting the Lord will watch over this upcoming May 2010.
This will be our 3rd May in Kansas, having moved here from Texas. May 2007, produced a massive tornado destroying Greensburg, KS. It took the life of Officer Tim Buckman. May 2008 brought another tornado, disrupting rural lives in Kansas. Friends, Mike & Jana lost their home & the Sewings family farmstead was destroyed as well. In Kansas City, via local TV stations, we followed the tornadoes path. (We were finalizing wedding details for son's June wedding). Angela, youngest sister, headed to the farm to check the status of our Sears house. By God's grace, our Sears house was standing with no obvious damage. Contractors busy placing central air/central heat. House has never had heat & air to each & every room of the house! janell
Not only learning how to save an old house, but learning how to share our progress with others. Will continue to update changes as they become available. janell
